Can I come out for track if I have never done it before?
Yes, track is a no cut sport. The only requirement is that you show up daily and do your best.
How will I know what events I should do?
During the first week of practice you can try out different events if you are unsure. Coaches will help you figure out what is the best fit for you and your abilities and where the team might need you
Do JV and varsity athletes run at every meet and what determines who runs varsity?
No, many of our meets are varsity only a few are JV only. Some are for JV and V. This should be indicated on the schedule. Coaches will work together to determine who runs what events based on what is best for the team. Athlete input will be taken into consideration.
Do I really need all my required paperwork to practice?
Yes
How long are meets?
This varies throughout the season based on many factors. Typically they last at least 2 hours and can be as long and 4-6
Does athletes have to stay the whole meet or can they leave after they are finished competing?
Yes, unless they have extenuating circumstances. Talk to coaches about this, Athletes and parents will be made aware of the attendance policy.
